Building on last year’s success, the AHSN Network will again have a major presence at the NHS Health and Care Expo in Manchester from Monday 11 to Tuesday 12 September.
This will include a return of the Innovator Zone, featuring more than 30 companies from across the country, who’ll be showcasing a wide range of the latest healthcare innovations and technologies that have been developed with support from the AHSNs, SBRI Healthcare, the NHS Innovation Accelerator and DigitalHealth.London.
Representatives of the Yorkshire & Humber AHSN will be taking an active role across the two days:
Monday 11 September
10.00 – 12.00: Chief Executive Officer Richard Stubbs will be joining the panel at the International exporting of NHS innovation, how to succeed and benefit the NHS at home session. This session will discuss how to access support from Healthcare UK and NHS Improvement.
15.00 – 15.45: Project Assistant Rebecca Verlander will be helping to lead a pop up university titled When I’m 64 – a call to the brave and practical to ambitiously create a better future for healthy ageing.
17.00 – 17.45: Richard Stubbs will chair a pop up university on realising the benefits of international partnerships – how international solutions can help solve local problems and how local solutions can meet international need.
From 6.15pm, our team will be joining other representatives of the AHSN Network and invited guests at the evening drinks reception.
Tuesday 12 September
09.00 – 09.45: Tony Jamieson, our Clinical lead for Medicines Optimisation, will be presenting at the Going Further Faster – How AHSNs are improving AF related outcomes session.
Yorkshire & Humber AHSN representatives will also be available on a number of stands throughout the two-day event. These include:
Philippa Hedley-Takhar, Head of Investment and Partnerships, who will be in the Test Bed Zone on the Sheffield City Region Perfect Patient Pathway stand. Philippa is currently on secondment to the Digital Care Home project.
Beverley Slater, our Improvement Academy Director, will be available to discuss the various programmes we provide and support.

The AHSN Network is leading two main stage sessions, both in the afternoon of Day 1, Monday 11 September:
- Innovation: the roadmap to adoption on the Innovate stage, 15.00 – 16.00
- Meet the innovators: The NIA Fellows and the Clinical Entrepreneurs led by the AHSN Network and NHS England’s Innovation Team. This session will be on the Innovate stage, 16.15 – 17.45
