Event forges links between industry and the NHS

Posted: 11th January 2019

More than 90 companies from across England, industry and NHS delegates came together in Leeds for Bridging the Gap 2 – an event hosted by the Yorkshire & Humber Academic Health Science Network (AHSN) on behalf of the AHSN Network.

The event, which was the second to be held by the AHSN Network, aimed to help and guide health technology innovators and companies to access the health and care marketplace.

Throughout the morning delegates listened to presentations ranging from how to gain NHS market access for their products or services to discussions around the legal and procurement barriers they may face.

In the afternoon delegates had a choice of different breakout sessions including presentations on the Innovation Exchange, NICE services for the Life Sciences Industry and the NHS Innovation Accelerator.

Delegates also had the opportunity to speak to an AHSN Network Commercial Director in a 1-2-1 session to seek advice and guidance.

Neville Young, Director of Enterprise and Innovation at the Yorkshire & Humber AHSN said:

‘’What a great event! It was great to have some many companies in the room all hungry to learn more about how to bring their innovative products to the market as quickly as possible. With such a strong line up of presenters covering everything from the AHSN Innovation Exchange to the impact of Brexit on regulation there really was something for everyone on the agenda.’’
