Despite improving survival rates, cancer is the leading cause of death in children and young people. There is a growing need for technology to support children and young people with cancer, as well as to support health care professionals to provide optimal care.
NIHR Children and Young People MedTech Co-operative is collaborating with the North East and North Cumbria Academic Health Science Network, MedConnect North, and Lab4Living to deliver a technology innovation workshop.
This workshop aims to identify potential technology solutions that address unmet clinical needs in children’s cancer. There will be a particular focus on improving current triage systems and infusion pumps.
This workshop will bring together health care professionals, designers, engineers, businesses, academics, young people and families, policy makers, and commissioners. There will be a series of short talks and interactive sessions.
