NIHR Children and Young People MedTech Co-operative, NIHR Clinical Research Network West Midlands, Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS FT, University Hospitals Birmingham NHS FT, and Sheffield Children’s NHS FT are collaborating to run an innovation workshop.
Young people with chronic health needs are required to move their health care from paediatric to adult health services when they reach 16-19 years of age. Transition refers to the process of moving from paediatric to adult health services.
This workshop aims to identify potential technology solutions that address unmet needs during the transition from paediatric to adult health services.
The areas of focus for the workshop are:
- Young people with more than one health condition
- Transition to primary care
- Tracking young people throughout transition
There will be a series of short talks from leading experts and interactive sessions.
Attendance is invited from academics, health care professionals, industry experts, young people and families, and anyone with an interest in or knowledge of the transition from paediatric to adult health care or child health technology.
Attendees will be encouraged to form multi-disciplinary collaborations and project teams during the workshop. We anticipate that project ideas generated during the workshop will be taken forward.
Places are limited and prior registration is essential. Lunch will be provided.
