In the first wave of the pandemic, many clinicians found that using pulse oximetry helped with earlier detection of ‘silent hypoxia’ in people with coronavirus. Silent hypoxia is where people have low oxygen levels in the absence of significant shortness of breath.

In this webinar, you will hear about how the NHS is supporting the use of remote monitoring of residents using pulse oximetry, how this works in care homes, and the range of support and learning materials on offer.

Organised by the AHSN Network and NHS England and NHS Improvement, this session will also explain how Patient Safety Collaboratives (hosted by AHSNs) are working with care homes and others to implement these COVID Oximetry @home and COVID virtual ward programmes.

The session will be of interest to registered managers and care workers in care homes, Primary Care Network clinical leads, and staff supporting remote monitoring.

There will be an opportunity to ask questions and the session will be recorded for those unable to attend on the day.
