To encourage scientists from outside traditional cardiovascular biology to engage in cardiovascular research and bring novel expertise to the field.

Examples of such collaborations includes cooperatives between biologists and engineers, physicists, mathematicians etc. A New Horizons Grant could be a prelude to a future Programme Grant.

Prospective applicants must have submitted a preliminary outline at least 18 months before the expected start date and received British Heart Foundation approval to submit a full application.
