Key speaker announced at flagship conference

Posted: 4th April 2019

Sarah Scobie, Deputy Director of Research at Nuffield Trust, will be a keynote speaker at our Transforming Lives Through Innovation conference on 9th May in Leeds.

Sarah will discuss a report, published by Nuffield Health in December 2018, about the challenges faced by the NHS in the winter period. She will present an overview of the report’s findings and facilitate a general discussion around individual challenges faced by workshop delegates.

The conference will feature workshops focused on key NHS priorities including patient safety, mental health and public and patient involvement. There will also be a marketplace with around 30 trade stands, giving delegates the chance to engage with some of the latest technologies revolutionising healthcare.

During the conference the 12 organisations selected to take part in Propel@YH – Yorkshire and Humber’s first digital health accelerator programme – will be announced.

Our CEO Richard Stubbs said: “We’re extremely proud to have secured such high-profile and globally-respected speakers for our flagship conference.

He added: “This is an extremely important time for healthcare and life sciences in the North. Our conference will be a valuable forum for NHS colleagues and industry innovators to come together to discuss how we can work together to meet the challenges of the NHS Long Term Plan, introduce exciting new innovations and continue to deliver the work we have underway to improve the health and prosperity of our region.”
