Posted: 17th February 2021

As part of the AHSN Network, we are proud to be sponsors of the Green Surgery Challenge 2021.

The Green Surgery Challenge 2021 is an opportunity for the UK’s surgical healthcare professionals to:

  • recognise the value of sustainable healthcare for surgical conditions
  • share and promote ways of practising that are less harmful to the environment and our planet and build social sustainability
  • continue to transform surgery for the future.

The Green Surgery Challenge 2021 is brought to you by the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare, with gold sponsorship from NIHR MedTech Co-operative in Surgical Technologies and Elemental Healthcare, silver sponsorship from Royal College of Surgeons England and Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh, bronze sponsorship from the AHSN Network and Vanguard Medical Remanufacturing, and partners, the Sustainable Healthcare Coalition, Brighton and Sussex Medical School and the Association for Perioperative Practice.

An event, hosted by the Royal College of Surgeons, officially launched the Challenge on the 3rd February and applications opened  on the 10th February, they will close on 1st March.

Teams can apply to take part in the challenge by creating a project to make their surgical practice more environmentally, socially and economically sustainable.

Yorkshire & Humber AHSN would welcome applications from teams in the region.
