See us at Health & Care Innovation Expo

Representatives of Yorkshire & Humber AHSN will be joining colleagues from the AHSN Network to host and support workshops and sessions at the Health and Care Innovation Expo 2019 at Manchester Central, 4-5 September.

Delegates at Health & Care Innovation ExpoOur Chief Executive Officer, Richard Stubbs, will be launching a new report ‘Diversity and innovation – a celebration of BAME innovators and our pledges to do more’ on behalf of the AHSN Network on Wednesday 4 September at 17.15, Exchange Hall 9.

This new report shares the stories of innovators from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds and sets out pledges by the AHSN Network to further support the diversity and innovation agenda.

The launch event will include a panel discussion with two of the innovators featured in the report, Naomi Mwasambili and Dr Taz Aldawoud. They will be joined by Joan Saddler and Wayne Farah from the NHS Confederation BAME Leaders Network

Richard will also be chairing an AHSN and NHS Assembly session at 11.45 in Theatre 3 on ‘Accelerating the adoption and spread of innovation to deliver the NHS Long Term Plan’.

This session will discuss the role of innovation in transforming services and empowering patients. It will aim to understand how we can reduce the current barriers to the adoption of best practice within the NHS.

Dr Neville Young, our Director of Enterprise and Innovation, will chair a Pop Up University session on ‘How to generate real-world evidence that demonstrates the value of your innovation’ on Thursday 5 September, 13.15-15.15 in Theatre 2.

This session is aimed at helping innovators build the real-world evidence needed to demonstrate the value of their innovation. There will be an opportunity to hear from other innovators who’ve worked with AHSNs about some of the techniques and processes needed to make sure innovations deliver transformational change in the NHS.

Speakers at this session include Professor Julia Riley, Clinical Lead, Coordinate My Care and Palliative Care Consultant at the Royal Marsden and Royal Brompton NHS Trusts; Jimmy Endicott, Founder of Chat Health and Digital Development Manager at Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust and Katharine Ward, Chief Commercial Officer, Healthy.io.

Richard will be attending the day-long meeting of the NHS Assembly on Thursday.
