Yorkshire & Humber AHSN’s CEO Richard Stubbs has committed the organisation to supporting its NHS partners in delivering the challenges set out in the recently published NHS Long Term Plan
Speaking at the Yorkshire & Humber AHSN’s Strategic Advisory Board meeting in Leeds, Richard welcomed the emphasis the plan places on the use of technology and innovation across health and care systems and outlined the work the AHSN was already doing to support its NHS partners.
The NHS Long Term Plan pledges to simplify and accelerate the pipeline for getting new products and services proven to deliver improved care to patients quickly.
The Yorkshire & Humber AHSN is already working to roll-out a range of innovative products tailored to the needs of clinicians and patients across all parts of the region in community services, GP practices and in hospitals.
The new plan presents a real opportunity to remove barriers and streamline approaches for the adoption of innovative products. This will, in turn, benefit patients by making services more convenient, easier to access and will improve the quality and consistency of care across patient pathways.
Richard commented: “I’m delighted to see the emphasis the plan places on technology and innovation as one of the key drivers in achieving the major shift to prevention and supporting people to stay healthy – unlocked by the power of digital.
“We are already delivering a range of initiatives that directly support the clinical priorities included in the Long Term Plan, in some cases through innovation and in others by providing the skills, tools and techniques for people driving and implementing change.
“Building on this we are looking forward to developing our offer in conjunction with our partners across the region to ensure that the Long Term Plan benefits everyone across Yorkshire and the Humber”
